The Thanet Over Fifties Forum - or "TOFFs" for short - is a new project, launched in September 2017. Its purpose is to raise the voice of older people from across Thanet on both local and national issues that impact on the quality of our lives.
We are a membership body - but the great news is that subscription to TOFFs is absolutely FREE and the only criterion for membership is that you are over 50 years of age.
TOFFS is run by a coordinator, Pauline Petitt, who works on the Thanet Community Support Partnership team based at the Kent Coast Volunteering. The role is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the running of TOFFS is also made possible by the generous support of Kent County Council.
In the year ahead, we would like to form a volunteer-led management committee to run TOFFS, ably supported by the coordinator. If you would be interested in helping to form TOFFS’ first ever committee, we would love to hear from you, via email: email@example.com; phone: 01843 609337; or at the next TOFFS Forum Meeting.
We will make sure that our members are kept right up to date with all the issues relevant to them, by connecting TOFFs with the work of the National Pensioners Convention, and other forums across Kent and nationally. We will work closely with providers such as Healthwatch Kent, Citizen Advice Bureau and many more to represent the interests of older people in Thanet.
What can TOFFs membership offer?
